Adventure in the Lost World
By R. W. Stroh
Illustrated by Kim Mulkey
It has been three years since you left home to become a sailor. No one from your faraway village thought you would succeed. But you quickly learned the ropes, and now you can climb the rigging as fast as any old salt.
Tonight you are having dinner with your friends at the Red Ox Inn. After dinner, an old man in a gray cloak draws you aside and tells you some unexpeted news.
There has been trouble at home, and your parents badly need your help. He won't say more than that, but he does tell you to be careful. Strange men have been asking questions about you at the town gate.
You know of a ship leaving for your home port in one hour. But the old man tells you not to take this ship --- you may never reach home. He advises you to take the old forest road, and to leave town as soon as possible.
